Welcome to Periwinkle Lake Carp Fishery

What a great lake, great host and a great week.

My son Josh and I were fortunate enough to have fished Periwinkle Lake previously and had a great week, despite atrocious weather conditions, both breaking PB's.

This year we had much better weather and both broke PB's again, myself on 4 separate days.

Mike is extremely knowledgeable, takes tremendous pride in the quality and condition of his fish and lake, but also goes out of his way to ensure that anglers have the best possible chance of catching these beautiful fish.

If you are looking for a no frills, awesome lake where you can cater for yourselves, while having all the facilities available that you might require for a great weeks fishing, this is definitely the place for you.

Just a few words to thank Mike for our week at the lake. Both Warren and I get little bank time compared to the old days so any time carping for a few days or more is truly precious.

Periwinkle is a cracking little lake with so much potential. Mike was a brilliant host throughout. The facilities were as explained and everything worked a dream. The lodge in the middle of the island made the fishing comfortable despite the rain, and really added to the experience. It's not 5* luxury but it is super functional and a perfect balance for someone that wants to fish hard but would rather not rough it. The hot shower was excellent by the way! The house bait worked a treat and the rules were sensible and simply based on good fish care - something rightly a top priority for Mike.

If you want to use your fast taper broom sticks and bait boats this probably isn't the place for you, but if you want to fish well, work spots and try to outwit big lumps at close quarters this is as good as anywhere I have seen. Mike is passionate about the lake and the fish within are quite superb. Well coloured, great condition and scrap right to the net.

Just an hour and a half drive from Caen, if you enjoy UK carping on smallish waters but want the chance of something a bit special I can't recommend this place enough. Both Warren and I have already rebooked for next year.
