The majority of our carp are between 30-50lb, the lake record currently stands at 60lb4oz mirror and 58lb10 common.

We are very proud of the carp at Periwinkle Lake, since stocking began in 2020 we have ensured the carp added have been of high quality and unpressured.

From golden, deep bodied mirrors to dark high shouldered commons it has been a pleasure to watch them grow.

In addition to the abundance of natural food within the controlled weed beds, we supplement their diet with a high grade nutritional boilie and pellet feed which helps boost their immune system. Into this feed we include a parasite repellent which helps keep the fish healthy and happy, this allows them to spend more time feeding.

There are a select few smaller fish of around 15-25lb which have been home grown. The smaller fish are regularly graded, keeping only those that are growing well and show potential or those with unique scale patterns.

Each winter we aim to remove any surplus fish in order to keep the biomass of the lake under control. The lake predators are a mix of pike, zander and perch. There are no catfish in the lake.

Many of the carp are yet to be caught since stocking began in 2020, our strong hard fighting fish are in pristine condition, and we are excited to see how our fish develop over the coming years.
